Previous collaborations between graffiti legend Futura 2000 and Nike have elicited some amazing results. The “Dunkle” SB Dunk Hi uses some of Futura’s more recognizable artwork that was used frequently by the instrumental hip-hop collective, U.N.K.L.E. After that successful sneaker came the Futura P-Rod, which also got sneaker fans excited. Just recently, Futura worked with the LIVESTRONG line of Nike products on a Dunk Hi that flew off of shelves at the few spots where it was released.

Next up from Futura and Nike is a pack that features four different models of Air Force 1s. We saw samples of this project in June, but now we can see the pack in detail. There are two high top and two low top models that are definitely a departure from the graphic and illustration-heavy approaches to previous Futura Nikes. These Air Force 1s go for the classic approach in single color choices–black, white, gray, and navy, allowing the shoe’s classic silhouette to speak for itself. The subtle details, like the use of both smooth and perforated leather and the incorporation of translucent outsoles that say “True” in Futura’s famous handstyle, make this Air Force 1 pack that releases in early 2010 one that collectors will swoon over yet again.

Sony PlayStation 3 Gets A Price Drop And A New "Slim" Model September 1st

Kaz Hirai, head of all things PlayStation announced that the long-rumored slim PlayStation 3 Slim will be in stores the first week of September.

Hirai noted that it will be have the same features and function of the current PS3, with a 120 gb drive. It will be 33 percent smaller, 36 percent lighter.

The unit will cost $299 in the U.S., 299 euros, 29980 yen.

It was widely speculated among the gaming press that Sony would announce a slim version of the PlayStation 3. Recurring rumors of price drops and supposed spy shots fueled speculation for months.

Sony's next major gaming press event is Tokyo Game Show, which begins in late September.

As for the current PS3 Models currently in stores the prices have dropped from 399$ to 299$ for the current model, but who would go and buy the current model now for that price when the new PS3 Slim will be available first week of September?

The GTX is designed based on simplicity, functionality and beauty. The general aesthetics aim for a neo retro look– a classic rendition of something futuristic. Throw yourself back in the 1960s and try to reimagine what a car in 2010 will look like and that picture shouldn’t be too far from the streamlined GTX.

Don’t let GTX’s good looks fool ya– the supercar has a rapping 650 horsepower, which is more than the Lamborghini Murcielago. The car powered by a 8.4 L V-10 engine recently debuted at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and is set to retail for $500,000 next year.

Air Jordan Force Fusion XIII (AJF13) - White/Black - Varsity Red

Lately we have been seeing a lot of hybrid models, and frankly, some of them have been surprisingly well executed. A little while ago, Air Jordan announced the designated fusion model this Holiday, the Air Jordan Force XIII based on Air Jordan XIII and Air Force I. The White/Black- Varsity Red colorway just dropped at marqueesole and they feature the golf ball inspired side panels and straps with hologram insert hardware on the heel. The Nike Air logo and Air Force 1 soles come into play with these fusion kicks to turn the heat up a notch on the previous Air Jordan XIII. These kicks come in a supple leather upper to retain comfort and flexible form for your game.

The rather popular Air Jordans Spizike is getting remade into a winter boot this year for stomping around in the snow. These fusion kicks retains an upper that is closely similar to the original Spizike sneaker such as triangular lace holder (added to the original sneaker from AJ4), lace lock and mesh (from AJ 5) and tongue (adopted from AJ6). The shoes are crafted from a mix of nubuck and other kinds of leather with the elephant print from the Spizike sneaker. The midsoles are a patent finished black and the blue outsoles are lightly speckled. The soles are rebuilt in a tougher and thicker manner for the winter, and the boot is also reworked to have a sturdier boot body. The heel features Spike Lee’s iconic character, “Mars Blackmon” from the movie “She’s Gotta Have It” on a round logo. These boots will be available for all Spizike fans this coming December at House of Hoops.

Rapper Fat Joe has been known to be a huge fan of sneakers and long time sneaker collector so it is no surprise that a collaborative project has been brewing up with up and coming sneaker brand Protege. The collaboration model is named The Blackout and it takes cues from the 80’s and 90’s classic styles but flipping it up enough to be an original design of it’s own. The basketball sneaker like high cut model already comes in two colorways in grey/white/yellow and blue/white/orange. Luckily for many fans, these shoes have been placed in a more affordable price range and can be found in select retailers such as Sears and K -Mart.
